Wedding celebrant, Gold Coast

A full Gold Coast wedding ceremony is $1,150 Monday to Thursday and $1,350 Friday to Sunday, plus about $20 of travel to Currumbin or Palm Beach. That is $200 to $500 below most Gold Coast celebrants for the same inclusions. Beaches and parks need a City of Gold Coast permit; book six to twelve months out for a summer Saturday.

Where on the Gold Coast

Ceremonies on council beaches, reserves and parks need a permit. Fees run $124 to $320 depending on the shire and the site, and are passed through at cost rather than marked up.

Venue weddings and council weddings are different bookings

A wedding at Cedar Creek Estate, Gold Coast Farm House or one of the Springbrook properties is one booking: they hold their own ceremony approvals, they have a wet-weather room, and they will tell you what hour the light is good on their own lawn. A wedding at Currumbin, Burleigh or Palm Beach is two — the City of Gold Coast books the site, and the reception is somewhere else.

That second shape needs a transfer written into the run sheet. Twenty minutes from Currumbin to a Burleigh restaurant on a Saturday afternoon in March is not twenty minutes, and the gap between a ceremony finishing and a room opening is where a wedding day quietly loses an hour.

Booking against the Gold Coast calendar

Six to twelve months for a Saturday between September and April is the honest answer, and the constraint is rarely the celebrant. It is the venue first, the photographer second and the council site third. Schoolies in late November and the fortnight either side of Christmas make accommodation for guests the hardest part of the whole exercise.

Midweek is a genuinely different market. Monday to Thursday the ceremony is $1,150 rather than $1,350, council sites are available, the beaches are empty at eight in the morning and every other supplier has room to move. A Wednesday wedding in May is the easiest good wedding to book on this coast.

The paperwork, in QLD

A ceremony at Gold Coast is recorded by the Queensland Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, because a marriage is registered in the state it took place in. A standard certificate there is $58.10, and its own registry ceremony is $410.60 on a weekday. What changes across the border, and the NOIM in full.

Questions people ask

How much is a wedding celebrant on the Gold Coast?
$1,150 weekday and $1,350 Friday to Sunday here, against a Gold Coast range that mostly runs $1,300 to $2,189 for a comparable ceremony. The difference is a Murwillumbah base rather than a lesser service — the inclusions are unlimited consultations, a written script, a rehearsal, a PA and lodgement.
Where do people get married on the southern Gold Coast?
Currumbin beach and the rock pools, Burleigh headland and Justins Park, Palm Beach parklands, and the hinterland behind them — Springbrook, Cedar Creek Estate, Gold Coast Farm House and Tamborine Mountain. The beaches need a council permit; most hinterland venues handle their own.
